  it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?

  for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .

  Hi,
  I was sucked in by being on the rebound. I had just split up with a nasty hubby .
  Being lonely ,I often visited other family members in my village. My old uncle who was a devout
  Catholic let the witnesses in just for the heated discussion.I got" caught" there unable to sneak
  out. So I sat there , and met my now husband. He had just gotten in to the witnesses 2 years prior.
  He also had just split up with his wife who left him because he began to study with the J.w.,
  Anyway , we got smitten , they told us the rules,
  and before you know it the ink on my divorce was hardly dry when I was engaged.
  He was a M. servant then and after we were married just 2 years he became an elder.
  Amazing what power can do to a person. My hubby is now unrecognizeable. I don't know him.
  To make matters worse, they are talking about him becoming cong. overseer.
  I left the org. in 1998,and they will never disfellowship me because they need him in the tiny cong.
  of about 45. There are only 3 elders and he is the youngest , who is a people pleaser.
  Yes there is a hell and I live in it. I was sucked in and nearly had the life sucked out of me .

  she is the woman who drown her 5 children just recently.. on good morning america today the qestion was asked if it was thought that her restrictive religion .

  and her homeschooling added to the stress and depression she was in.

  What Caused Your First Doubt ?

  for me it was when i was about twelve years old and my best friends dad was disfellowshipped from the congregation.. i could not understand how a god of love would treat someone so coldly.. i used to think what if that was the way my parents would treat me if i had done something wrong, that would be so hard and cruel.. as i got older another thing that bothered me was the beard issue.

  it may sound pretty trivial however the society has always refused to make a good arguement as to why they would give you the old cold shoulder if you were to grow one.. two more items; first i could not understand why all the congregations and all the assemblys would give income reports.

  and the society never did.

  For me it was always nagging in the back of my mind , however it was the word
  "neurolinguistics" that got me thinking and searching the net.
  When I found a site, it mentioned the Jehovahs Witnesses, along with some others who
  use repetitive phrases to create a reality in your mind. This got me going on more searches of all
  kinds.But in the end I vanished from the cong. when my husband became an elder.I swear they
  gave him a Lobotomy.

  Demons In Garage Sales or Worse

  well guys, i've done it now!

  our whole little town has a sale every june and this one was no exception.

  while hubby was watching our sale, my oldest daughter and i walked around the neighborhood to see what we could filch out of our neighbors renderings.

  I was so convinced about the demons in second hand stuff that I was horrified.
  My daughter bought a blue and white striped sweater in the Goodwill.
  When a few things went wrong that day, as they do any day, we freaked out.
  Picture this.. Me, carrying a big happy looking sweater out the back yard on the end of a 5 foot stick!
  Then like a pyromanic I lit it on fire. Yes, I figured the contamanation wouldn't GET me that way.
  Now , since I know better , I go junking all the time with no fear! And I never take a stick.

  Neanderthals and the Bible?

  i am doing some research on neanderthals.

  we know that this species existed and by very recent dna test we can tell that they are definitely not human.has any one done anything on this subject or the accuracy of carbon dating?
